If your doctor prescribed Zanaflex Capsules® for you, it is important to make sure that you receive Zanaflex Capsules® and not tablets when you have your prescription filled at the pharmacy. You can make sure you receive the correct medication by following three simple steps:
Look at your prescription to see if your doctor wrote “Zanaflex Capsules”. If “Zanaflex Capsules” is written on your prescription you should receive capsules, not tablets, from the pharmacy.
Check your prescription when the pharmacist hands it to you. You should open the medicine bottle to make sure that capsules, not tablets, are what you have been given.
If you receive tablets instead of capsules at the pharmacy, it is likely that a medication error has occurred (you were given the wrong medicine at the pharmacy). Talk to your pharmacist about this error and let your doctor know that you were given the wrong medicine. IMPORTANT – Talk to your doctor before taking the tablets if you were prescribed Zanaflex Capsules®. You can also report medication errors to the Acorda Medical Information System by calling toll-free 1-800-367-5109.
